  1. Sunscreen

Sunscreen isn’t just for the beach or the pool. If you’re taking the dog for a walk or planning an all-day outdoor shindig at the park, you should always armor up with sunscreen. Not sure what sunscreen is right for you? The American Academy of Dermatology recommends a lotion with broad-spectrum protection (both UVA and UVB rays), an SPF of 30 or higher, and a water-resistant ability. 1. Shades

Your skin isn’t the only thing that’s susceptible to damage from harmful UV rays. Protecting your eyes is just as important. According to AllAboutVision.com, the most effective shades protect 99-100% of UVA and UVB rays. A UV400 rating would provide this protection. Read some of these FAQs about sunglasses.

  1. Parasols

This vintage approach to avoiding harmful rays has reappeared as a modern fashion accessory. These portable shades do double duty with providing a barrier from the sun and adding to your fashion ensemble. Check out New York Magazine’s 5 Best Parasols of 2018.

  1. Hats

Hats do wonders to shield your face and neck from the sun. They’re also one of the easiest accessories to find and come in more varieties that you can count. When spending much of your time outdoors, look for a broad-brimmed hat that provides maximum coverage. We’ve got ideas for both mens and womens hats for you to check out.
