Giving Thanks 10 Reasons To Be Thankful

Tuesday, November 24th, 2020

Happy Thanksgiving, Whitney Ranch! In a year that has challenged us all mentally, emotionally, and physically, it is time to take a moment to reflect. In times of hardship also comes the time to think about the positives, the possibilities, and the triumphs, no matter how big or small. This week, we are sharing 10 reasons to be thankful, and hope that you can take some time to reflect on what you are thankful for as well.

A great family activity is going around the table and sharing five things that you are thankful for. It reminds us that at the end of the day, what matters is our families, our health, and our happy homes. To get you started, here is our list. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

family

1. Family

As the holidays draw near, we are reminded that we truly do have our families to rely on. Our families are there for us when we need support, guidance, or a good laugh. And whether you are with your immediate family, roommates (your chosen family), or on Skype, feel the love and let them know how much they mean to you.

2. Food

The season of eating is here, and who wouldn’t be grateful for a slice of pumpkin pie or turkey? If you have consistent meals for your family without worry, you have more than many families across the United States, and we encourage you to find local food banks and shelters to drop off canned donations to this season.

3. Zoom Calls

In this digital world, our Zoom calls feel like real hangouts and video calls have become a part of the daily operation with friends and family. Our Zoom, FaceTime, and Skype calls are bringing us together when we need it most, and for that we are thankful.

4. Movie and TV

To keep us entertained, streaming movies and TV shows have been crucial to staying distracted and entertained. Do you usually choose comedy or thrillers? Drama or musical? Whatever it is, we are thankful for our shows all season long!

5. Backyards

Our Whitney Ranch backyards are bringing new life, meaning, and purpose to daily tasks. Taking a work call outside is a nice escape from the home office and playing in the backyard with the kids is the best way to end the day. We love our backyards here at Whitney Ranch and the fresh California air.

good health

6. Health

It goes without saying that having our health is something to be very thankful for this year. To all of our Whitney Ranch families who have had loved ones in poor health, we extend all of the love to you. This year more than ever, we wish good tidings and health upon your family.

7. Service / Health Workers

We are forever thankful to all of the restaurant, service, and healthcare employees that have made so many sacrifices for the benefit of our communities. Our groceries, coffees, and fast food would not be possible without our amazing service workers.

8. Social Media

In the same vein as Zoom, our social media has been a distraction from the world, a total nosedive into the current state of the world, and a way to connect with our closest loved ones. No matter which way you use social media, it is fair to say that it has been so valuable and important during 2020, and for that we are thankful.

a toast to your co-workers and friends

9. Co-workers and Friends

The people around us…those that we communicate with everyday… they truly become the foundation for some stability in our lives, and for them we are thankful. If you haven’t already, send a nice message to your co-workers and best friends reminding them of the impact they have had on you. You won’t regret it.

10. Nature

Through everything, nature has been something to connect with on any day, no matter the circumstances. A bike, walk, or hike pulls us out of the digital world for an hour or two, and let’s us breathe fresh air, think clearly, and change our scenery. We are so thankful for our precious earth this Thanksgiving, and cannot wait for the next adventure.

What are you thankful for? We know we just barely touched the surface, and encourage you to extend more thankful wishes and praises with your family. Have a happy Thanksgiving everyone!
