8 Celebration Worthy Recipes For National Frozen Yogurt Day
Monday, February 4th, 2019
National Frozen Yogurt Day is on February 6th and we couldn’t be happier (unless it was on a summer’s day, but hey, any day we can enjoy a tasty treat is a great day)!
You could haul the family to your favorite froyo bar, but we think it would be even more fun if you made your own. Check out some of the delicious recipes we found to make and enjoy, including some decadent non-dairy options!
Vanilla or Base Recipe
Frozen yogurt is all about sugar. Sugar is what prevents ice crystals from forming in the freezer, resulting in that fabulously creamy texture we all love. More sugar equals creamier texture. For a simple yet yummy vanilla frozen yogurt, you simply churn ingredients you already have on hand: Greek yogurt, white sugar, and vanilla extract. That’s it! Churn until it’s a soft-serve ice cream consistency then freeze for a couple of hours. Super easy, right? Check out the recipe HERE.
Chocolate
This one requires some planning ahead, but it’s worth it! You’re only a few ingredients from pure chocolatey goodness. Recipe HERE.
Super Simple Strawberry
Strawberries aren’t in season, but you can still satisfy your craving, because this recipe calls for frozen fruit. The honey replaces the sugar for sweetness and to keep things wonderfully creamy. Recipe HERE.
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
One of the most popular ice cream flavors can be made into a lighter (but no less delicious) froyo version. The secret weapon here is the brown sugar, which makes it taste like a chocolate chip cookie. Recipe HERE.
Copycat Disney Dole Whip
Get the taste of the famous Disneyland dole whip in your own kitchen! While this isn’t truly a frozen yogurt recipe, it’s close enough and too good not to include it. Recipe HERE.
Caramel Macchiato
Coffee ice cream, move aside, because now you can enjoy frozen yogurt that tastes like a coffeehouse favorite. Whip it up in the afternoon and serve it as an after-dinner treat. Recipe HERE.
Non-dairy or vegan frozen yogurt is just as simple to make. For most of the recipes above, you can easily swap Greek yogurt for coconut milk, soymilk, or almond milk-based yogurts. Here are a couple more mouthwatering options:
Mango, Lime, and Coconut
Get a taste of a Caribbean vacation with this cold treat. Even better, this one can be made in minutes. Recipe HERE.
Blueberry
The only thing that can match this froyo’s vibrant color is the flavor. It’s literally bursting with blueberries and tastes like summer in your mouth. Recipe HERE.
We can’t wait to see what you make!
