Veterans Day is so much more than a day off from school or work (if you’re one of the lucky ones!). It’s a wonderful opportunity to honor and thank the men and women who have bravely served our country in the armed forces. There are many ways to acknowledge their service, so we’re highlighting some ways you and your family can celebrate in our area!

Roseville American Legion Veterans Day Ceremony
Enjoy a local Veterans Day ceremony with the American Legion at the Roseville Veterans Memorial Hall at 11:00 a.m. Details HERE.
Downtown Sacramento Veterans Day Parade
Bring the family to the city for the largest Veterans Day parade in the area! Opening ceremony begins at 10:00 a.m. at the Capitol Mall, followed by the parade at 11:00 a.m. Food trucks will also be onsite, so bring your appetites! Details HERE.
Folsom Veterans Day Parade
If you want to stay closer to home, come on out to the Veterans Day Parade in Folsom! There will be more than 2,000 participants with marching bands, floats, classic cars, horseback riders, color guards, and community groups. Parade starts at 9:00 a.m. Get the route HERE.
Veterans Day Virtual Race
Participate in a virtual race from November 1 to November 30! What’s a virtual race? It’s an event where you choose a distance – 1 mile, 5K, 10K, half-marathon, marathon – select a route, and run it whenever you wish! Time it yourself, send it your details, and receive a finisher’s medal. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Disabled American Veterans Charitable Service Trust. Register HERE.
Veterans Day Ceremony at California Mexican American Veterans Memorial
This afternoon ceremony honors all veterans who have served our country at the nation’s only monument that commemorates Mexican-American soldiers. From 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Capitol Mall. Event information HERE.
Auburn Veterans Day Parade
Celebrate this popular parade’s centennial in downtown Auburn! Festivities include a dove release, flyover, rifle salute, performance of TAPS, and a complimentary hot dog lunch. Parade begins at 10:50 a.m. at Lincoln Street and Cleveland Way. More details HERE.
Free Admission at Sacramento Area Museums
