Womens History Month

Friday, March 16th, 2018

Let’s hear it for our amazing women out there: wives, moms, grandmas, aunts, sisters, daughters, teachers, mentors, the list goes on and on! March has been recognized as a time to remember and appreciate the contributions of women in society and our nation’s history.

Between 1988 and 1994, Congress passed resolutions requesting and authorizing the President to proclaim March of each year as Women’s History Month. (http://bit.ly/2owsAv8) To this day, our most esteemed national institutions and presidents commemorate and encourage the study, observance, and celebration of the vital role of women in American history. This year, the National Women’s History Project is honoring women with their 2018 theme, “Nevertheless, She Persisted: Honoring Women Who Fight All Forms of Discrimination Against Women”. Check out the mentioned honorees here: http://www.nwhp.org/2018-theme-honorees/
