Meet The Whitney Ranch Hoa Team

Tuesday, April 25th, 2017

It’s a well-known fact that Whitney Ranch is a pretty wonderful place to raise a family, but it didn’t get that way all on its own. There’s a group of talented, creative, and hardworking individuals who, from the landscape blueprints to the holiday events, keep the community running at its best.

Meet some of the Whitney Ranch HOA team members who love our community and work their magic behind the scenes!

(Stephanie Fretwell)

Can you explain your role on the Whitney Ranch HOA Team and how long you’ve been working there?

I’m the lifestyle manager, which is a fancy way of saying event coordinator. I work with my team to plan all of the Whitney Ranch Community Association events. I’ve been working here at Whitney Ranch since August 2016.

Tell us your favorite memory you have while working at Whitney Ranch.

I’m not going to lie, it’s the Cow Plop at the Fall Carnival. If you don’t know what a cow plop is, it’s where you grid off a parking lot, you sell off the squares like a raffle, and wherever the cow, well, plops, that’s your winning square. The cow that participated was wearing a hat. That’s definitely not something you see every day, making it my favorite memory here at The Ranch House.

What would you say is the most rewarding part about your job?

The most rewarding part of my job are the events, and watching all the work we put into them come to life. We work hard and create a fun atmosphere here at The Ranch House! It’s beyond rewarding to see our residents come together and enjoy the events.

What’s your life motto?

Life’s short, eat dessert first.

Give us three reasons why you love Whitney Ranch!

  • The residents. Maybe it’s because I’m in charge of the events, but everyone I interact with is so positive and friendly. I haven’t been in my position for that long, but the residents have made me feel welcome since day one.
  • Our events. I get to plan all sorts of fun events from the Fall Carnival, to summertime pool parties, to Oktoberfest. There’s such a variety of events that we put on for the community…I love it!
  • Rocklin. I grew up in Rocklin and graduated from Whitney High School. This city has played such a big role in who I am today, and it’s wonderful to be back creating a memorable lifestyle for Whitney Ranch residents.

Can you explain your role on the Whitney Ranch HOA team and how long you’ve been working there?

I am an Administrative Assistant, and I have been working at Whitney Ranch for three years.

Tell us your favorite memory you have while working at Whitney Ranch.

My favorite memory is our 80s party event we had at The Ranch House. It was so much fun seeing everyone dressed up in their vintage clothes and outfits they had thrown together and dancing to the 80s music. The staff dressed up as well so that was fun for us. Everyone had a blast!

What would you say is the most rewarding part about your job?

The most rewarding part about my job is interacting with our residents and getting to know them. You’re able to build a personal connection when you get to work and interact with them on a daily basis

What’s your life motto?

“Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.”

Give us three reasons why you love Whitney Ranch!

  • The fun, awesome residents that we have in this community that we get to interact with on a daily basis.
  • The events that we host for the community because they are always so much fun and very well executed.
  • The incredible team I have had the pleasure of working with who make it not seem like work at all!

Can you explain your role on the Whitney Ranch HOA team and how long you’ve been working there?

I have been the on-site general manager at Whitney Ranch since 2013. Since The Ranch House opened in 2007, I have been involved behind the scenes for nearly a decade, as I was the supervisor of the first on-site General Manager, Greg Dobson. In a nutshell, my role is similar to running a business. I am responsible to create and manage the budget, ensure that the property is always looking its best, oversee the staff in their roles, manage the stream of new homeowners, and I work closely with the board of directors to carry out the day-to-day operations of the association.

It’s really hard to pick one, as there are so many funny and/or interesting things that happen here (some more appropriate to be shared over a glass of wine). I do love when kids and/or parents come to visit at the office just to say hi or give us a hug. It makes all of us at The Ranch House feel appreciated!

What would you say is the most rewarding part about your job?

I have really enjoyed the growing sense of community that has been created at Whitney Ranch. Many times in property management, we are solely focused on the enforcement of the legal documents, but at Whitney Ranch we get to bring the fun, too! It’s really exciting to see our homeowners enjoying the events and activities we plan for them. It’s rewarding to help create events and activities such as photos with Santa, or our annual egg hunt, that will become part of our families’ lifelong memories.

What’s your life motto?

“A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle.” James Keller

The most fulfilling thing I do in my life is give back to others, and organizing the people around me to do the same. Each of us can give back in one of these three ways: give money, give time, or give goods. I am passionate about being the spark that gets people giving in whatever way they can!

Give us three reasons why you love Whitney Ranch!

  • The fun!
  • Our residents’ attitude of gratitude.
  • The sense of community.
